Environmental policy and workplace health and safety
The Chief Executive Officer, on behalf of the management at ZENDAL endorses the following action policy in terms of the Environment and Workplace Health and Safety that will be applied throughout all the company’s activity:
1. The lives, the environment and the integrity and health of the workers are rights which must be protected continually for everyone that works in ZENDAL. Especially for those who hold management posts.
2. This policy seeks to implant a comprehensive and integrated participative model founded on scientific evidence, directing their efforts towards continual improvements in sustainability and safety in all activities.
3. Seeking the utmost protection of the natural environment, we minimise the environmental impact arising from our activities, ensuring the conservation of natural resources, improving waste material management, reducing contamination and monitoring the good environmental conduct of our suppliers.
4. To foster responsibility in all workers and develop safe behaviours, workers will be given all available information on risks inherent to their work, both personal and environmental, and the necessary training to adopt the correct means and measures for risk prevention.
5. We monitor environmental, Health and Safety risks, present and future. These will be evaluated according to their importance and we will minimise their impact on people, the environment and the business. We will openly communicate to all interested parties the results of this monitoring.
6. In the same way, we will promote the participation of all workers in questions related to the environment and workplace risks, since they have intimate knowledge of the detailed tasks they carry out and therefore are in the best position to put forward ideas.
7. To reach an efficient implantation of the present policy, the necessary resources will be allocated and their use will be adequately planned and carried out: The conservation and good use of material and human resources are an essential element in preventative policies but also in decreasing costs.
8. The company commits to achieving a high standard of both environmental and health and safety in the workplace, not just fulfilling the current legislation in this matter, but also carrying out actions that go further than the degree of protection set out by law and other normatives if it were necessary.
9. This policy shall be communicated to all employees as well as all the personnel that works under the name of this organisation.
Finally this is a firm commitment by the company to integrate environmental and preventative aspects in its organisational structure and good governance policies so that they will become part of the productive structure.
